HMS King George V (1:350)

HMS King George V, Tamiya in 1/350. Fitted with a Wood Hunter deck and photo etch cranes and some mast parts. Painted in Humbrol enamels and modeled in her 1945 configuration.

This took me exactly 3 months. I had to redo the rigging because the instructions are wrong! (The horizontal rigging goes to the front mast top spar, not bottom, Tamiya!!!)

The ships' crest was scratch built from a sliver of plastic.. Well worth the effort..

The cranes went together O.K. - Just for a change!

As you can see, she is the fleet flagship: She's flying the flag (union flag) of an Admiral of the Fleet..

In silhouette..
